Heat wave accoss the US

Is it hot or what? Temperatures above 100 degrees for much of the country. Those record breaking temps moving from the west coast now heating up the country from the midwest to east coast. Maybe this is a product of global warming. I know some people seem to be in denial as to whether or not global warming is real and what is the root cause. If we wait until the full effects are felt to take any action it may be too late. Maybe if gasoline tops $5/gallon people will get the message. In that respect higher gas prices will have a positive affect long term.

Midterm elections are the democrats to lose, will they or won’t they?

July 26, 2006 on 9:21 am | In Vote for ... | 1 Comment

Unless the dems continue on their recent history of being their own worst enemy they could really gain some ground. Tipping the scales in their own favor and gaining control of one or both houses are a distinct possibility. That is if they down’t screw it up. But I can’t help but wonder if they will shoot themselves in the foot. Lets’ face it it sometimes seem as if democrats could screw up a wet dream. I am a spolier by nature so I like to cast my throw the bums out vote. Call me a member of the anti-incumbent party. I am a registered independant and have voted for both parties at one time or another. I am an extremely liberal conservative, or is it conservative liberal

War: the cause is it oil, money, or religion?

July 23, 2006 on 10:20 am | In Media Buzz | No Comments

It is often quoted that money is the root of all evil. However isn’t equally true that religious differences are the root of all wars? Whether or not the direct cause of conflict, it can be observed that opposing sides almost always have different religious beliefs. The almost wanna be a civil war in Iraq and the Israel vs. Hezbollah conflict in Lebanon are current examples. Religion could only be the solution if all sides unify their religious beliefs. Tolerance can ease tensions but only unity will lead to lasting peace. But which religion should it be? All will say mine… One world under Good we trust. If all could worship GOOD rather than a particular GOD we would all be better off. It is my opinion that god is simply the personification of all that is good.

Why Worry?

July 8, 2006 on 6:14 pm | In Junk Drawer | No Comments

In this world there are but two things to worry about.

  1. Either you are sick.
  2. or you are healthy.

If you are healthy then you have no real worries. But, if you are ill or in poor health you only have two things to worry about.

  1. Either you will get healthy again.
  2. Or you will die.

As stated earlier if you are healthy you have no reason to worry. But if you die you have again have two things to be concerned or worried about.

  1. Either you will go to heaven.
  2. Or you will go to hell.

Now it is obvious if you go to heaven you will have no worries. But, if you go to hell you will be so busy shaking hands with all your friends you will not have time to worry, so why worry?

Or so the story goes…
