Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) for president? or not?

May 31, 2006 on 6:14 pm | In Vote for ... | 1 Comment

I think the democratic candidate to watch is the one than can beat Hillary in the primary. She is the standard yardstick for measuring up the 2008 presidential race. I think the republicans are the ones who pushed Hillary up to the front runner position. There was a time that the more times a politician mentioned Hillary at a fundraiser the more money came rolling in. Careful what you wish for you just might get it. I’m not sure why but I don’t think she will be the actual candidate but would make an excellent vice presidential candidate. It is too early to read those tea leaves just yet so I reserve the right to change my mind at any moment for any reason. However the mid-terms are much closer and the drums are beating. it should be an interesting fall.

US talking with Iran (Maybe) IF they stop nuke program now

May 31, 2006 on 5:26 pm | In Media Buzz | 1 Comment

After refusing previously the US (Bush & Rice) have said they would have talks with Iran if they stop nuke activities now. Quite a shift in policy and could be good if not viewed as weak. The real question is how Iran will react; I don’t think we can trust them. Lets hope the Whitehouse is as straight with Iran as they have been with the American public about Iraq. Diplomacy might be the best approach with Iran but that doesn’t promise a great agreement. Let’s all hope this flip-flop in policy doesn’t flop.

Why not search congressional offices?

May 30, 2006 on 4:57 pm | In Vote for ... | 1 Comment

It sounds like these guys need a slight modification to Al Gore’s “Locked Box”. All members of congress should get their very own locked box to keep all those dirty little secrets locked away. Give me a break. If these guys are so concerned with their own privacy they should have spoken up sooner. A judge should be able to issue a search warrant for any place at any time for reasonable cause of a crime. Now maybe congress should be given some serious consideration given to their arguments. The seriousness of the crime in relationship to the sensitive nature of a “special” search site should be considered. Most judges are capable of making these types of decisions. They make them every day but usually don’t make the news.

Man saves puppy from alligator’s jaws

May 30, 2006 on 2:54 pm | In Media Buzz | 1 Comment

The pup survives and is doing well. Now that is one loyal dog owner, he didn’t hesitate to take on the gator with his bare hands eventually freeing the six month old golden retriever. I think the tree hugging animal lover types out there should give this guy a medal or something.

Or at least I wish I was fishing. I’m ready for somebody to take me fishing. I could use some quiet time out on a lake somewhere. Fishing is great for relaxing and forgetting about all the hustle and bustle. get your line wet and who knows you just might catch something.

Most Pools open Memorial day (at least in this part of the country.

Hot and muggy great day for a dip to cool off. Careful though I bet the water is cold. brrrr! But hey that’s a good thing on a hot day.  Watch out for those gators if you live in Florida! It surprises me that there are so few attacks from alligators. They look pretty mean to me. Enjoy the holiday weekend with family or friends, why not go for a dip in the pool.
